Georgian Education Minister meets acting US Ambassador to discuss strategic cooperation

Georgian Education Minister Givi Mikanadze met on Monday with Acting US Ambassador to Georgia Alan Purcell to discuss deepening strategic cooperation in education, science and youth, as well as exploring prospects for joint initiatives.

Mikanadze thanked Persel for supporting the development of Georgia’s education and science sectors and provided updates on ongoing large-scale reforms in the country’s education system.

The Minister highlighted the importance of expanding partnerships with the San Diego State University to develop new educational programmes in technology and agricultural sciences.

The discussion also covered the continuation of the US Embassy’s University Capacity Building Programme as a mechanism for institutional strengthening and international cooperation.

The meeting concluded with both sides reaffirming their commitment to active collaboration and outlining future partnership prospects.
