Three-year-old child, her mother die after road accident in Gori

A three-year-old child has died in hospital after being seriously injured in a road accident in the Georgian city of Gori.

The child and the child’s mother were struck by a car while walking on Chavchavadze Street on Monday night.

The woman died at the scene, while the child was taken to hospital with serious injuries and later died.

The driver has been arrested.

An investigation has been launched under Article 276 of Georgia’s Criminal Code, which covers violations of traffic safety or vehicle operation rules.
