The Georgian government has announced they will give flats to 65 internally displaced families in western Kutaisi and Zugdidi and in capital Tbilisi.

The Georgian government has plans to hand over new flats to 5,000 internally displaced families within two years, Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili stated in March of the year.

New flats have been provided to 23,000 internally displaced families across the country since 2013.

There are about 200,000 internally displaced persons in the country due to internal conflicts in Georgia’s currently Russian-occupied Abkhazia and Tskhinvali regions.
