Ex-deputy health minister Gudushauri granted ₾500,000 bail

A court has granted bail of ₾500,000 ($185,560) to Ilia Gudushauri, the former deputy minister of health, as a preventive measure.

At the request of the prosecution, the court also ordered the confiscation of Gudushauri’s national identity card and passport.

Gudushauri will be released from custody once the bail amount has been paid.

He has been arrested on suspicion of abusing his official powers, the Financial Ministry’s Investigative Service said on Tuesday. Ghudushauri has admitted to the charges brought against him.
