Imprisoned ex-pres Saakashvili encourages president Zurabishvili to arrive in Kyiv

Imprisoned former President of Georgia Mikheil Saakashvili has called on President Salome Zurabishvili to arrive in Kyiv amid calls of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to the heads of states of friendly nations.

 

Saakashvili who holds Ukrainian citizenship and before the arrest in Tbilisi In October 2021 took a state post in the country, said in his Facebook post today that he will be able to ensure logistics for Zurabishvili’s trip if she decides so.

 

Zelensky has invited leaders of friendly nations to Kyiv amid hostilities in the country and threats that Russian troops will hit the capital city.

 

He has stated that the PMs of Poland, the Czech Republic and Slovenia have already arrived in the country to show their solidarity with Ukraine amid Russian invasion.
