Ipsos polls commissioned by the opposition-minded Mtavari Arkhi channel say that none of the candidates will be able to secure at least 51 percent of votes in the first round of October 2 municipal elections in capital Tbilisi.

Thus, the polls say that the second round will be required.

According to the polls, the results are as follows:

Kakha Kaladze – ruling party – 41%

Nika Melia – united opposition – 36 %

Ex-PM Giorgi Gakharia – 13 %

Anna Dolidze – 4 %

Anna Bibilashvili – Lelo – 2 %

Other candidates – 4 %.

The channel says that 1,500 individuals, eligible to vote, participated in the polls between September 21-25.

The margin of error is +/- 3.
