Georgian Defence Minister meets Armenian PM in Yerevan to discuss regional stability, bilateral cooperation

Georgian Vice Prime Minister and Minister of Defence Irakli Chikovani, who is on an official visit to Armenia, on Tuesday met with the country’s Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan to discuss the traditional friendship between the countries and current issues on the bilateral cooperation agenda.
The Ministry of Defence said the sides highlighted the strategic partnership between the two countries and discussed the importance of maintaining peace and stability in the wider region.
Chikovani reaffirmed Georgia’s readiness to contribute to the development of regional cooperation and highlighted the historic significance of the joint declaration signed in August between Armenia and Azerbaijan in Washington, saying the agreement would play an “important role” in strengthening long-term peace and stability in the South Caucasus.
The meeting also covered ongoing cooperation between Georgia and Armenia in defence.
