Georgia’s Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze has criticised the report published under the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe’s Moscow Mechanism, saying it omitted key details about the country’s recent elections.

Speaking at a briefing at the Government Administration on Monday, Kobakhidze said the report’s author failed to note that the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR) described Georgia’s 2024 parliamentary elections as competitive and recognised Georgian Dream as the elected government.

He added the report also overlooked the fact that opposition parties had twice refused to take up their parliamentary mandates, which he said undermined the country’s constitutional order and democratic system.

The prime minister added that the report did not criticise opposition parties for what he described as “anti-democratic actions”.

Kobakhidze also said the author failed to mention that recent elections were held under new legislation developed through months of negotiations between the government and opposition parties.

“Overall, the author of the Moscow Mechanism report failed to cast doubt on the democratic nature of the 2024 and 2025 elections,” he said.
