Georgia has selected US ambassador candidate, says PM

Georgia has chosen its candidate for ambassador to the United States, and the appointment process is already underway, Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze announced in an interview with Georgia’s First Channel on Wednesday evening.

“We have selected a candidate for the position of ambassador to the US. More than that, the process has already started, and we hope it will be completed soon. We will share this information with the public at a later stage when further steps in the procedure have been taken,” Kobakhidze stated.

He added that the Georgian government is ready to engage in communication immediately and is awaiting reciprocal steps from the relevant parties.
