Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze highlighted that Georgia has impressive economic growth over the past four years, noting that the country’s economy has doubled in size when measured in US dollars. He made the remarks during an interview on the TV program Imedis Kvira.

According to the Prime Minister, the strong economic performance has led to the creation of new jobs and a significant rise in average salaries.

“In the last three years, 195,000 new jobs have been created in Georgia, resulting in a higher employment rate. Average salaries have nearly doubled as well,” Kobakhidze stated.

He added that Georgia’s goal is to further develop its Gross Domestic Product (GDP), with forecasts from the International Monetary Fund (IMF) showing an optimistic outlook.

“We are among the top three countries globally in terms of economic growth projections. Based on these estimates, by 2030, Georgia’s GDP per capita is expected to reach $13,500, which will move Georgia into the category of high-income countries,” the Prime Minister said.

Kobakhidze also emphasized that Georgia aims to become fully self-sufficient in electricity production by 2030 — a goal he described as entirely achievable. He concluded by noting that social policies will continue to expand and improve alongside economic development.
