Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze has described the activation of the OSCE’s so-called Moscow Mechanism as part of what he called an ongoing “unfair campaign” against Georgia and the Georgian people.

Speaking to journalists, the Prime Minister said the move represented a continuation of this approach and claimed that the countries behind the initiative were not well disposed towards Georgia.

“For years, an unfair campaign has been conducted against Georgia and the Georgian people, and this is a continuation of that. Here too you can see that the initiators of such an initiative are countries that are unfairly disposed towards our people,” Kobakhidze said.

He added that, despite this, Georgia maintained what he described as a “unilateral friendship” stance towards those states. “It is a continuation of the same line, so for us this is not of interest,” the Prime Minister said.
