Kobakhidze said the former official had failed to define his political identity or strategy

Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze on Monday claimed that former Prime Minister and For Georgia opposition party leader Giorgi Gakharia, as well as broader opposition were in a state of confusion and indecision, blaming their current position on what he described as the "bosses" of the radical opposition.

Responding to a journalist’s question about Gakharia’s political direction and future plans, Kobakhidze said the former official had failed to define his political identity or strategy. “Gakharia has not been able to establish himself - what he wants or where he stands,” Kobakhidze remarked. “He is in a state of contradiction - wanting to stay in the country and also not, wanting to run in elections and also not, likely because his chances are very slim.”

He added that the uncertainty surrounding Gakharia and his party reflected a broader disarray across opposition ranks. “The entire opposition, including this political party and this person, are in complete uncertainty. Their bosses [from abroad] brought them to this point. Of course, we helped, but the main credit goes to the bosses of the radical opposition,” Kobakhidze said.
