Kobakhidze: Georgia’s leadership among EU candidate countries beyond doubt

Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze on Wednesday said Georgia’s leadership among EU candidate countries was “absolutely beyond doubt,” citing international rankings and assessments.

Commenting on the Global Governance Performance Index, Kobakhidze argued that Georgia not only leads among candidate states but also outperforms several EU member countries across various parameters.

“If we compare Georgia with candidate countries, we are absolute leaders in every direction - and not only among them. By every parameter, every index, every ranking, we are ahead of a number of EU member states. This reflects the overall situation in our country, both in terms of democracy and the economy. Georgia is a frontrunner across all areas, a leader among candidate countries, and this is confirmed by all facts and all objective rankings,” Kobakhidze stated.
