Georgia’s Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze has expressed condolences following the death of Manana Menabde, a celebrated Georgian singer and artist, at the age of 77.
In a statement on Tuesday, Kobakhidze described Menabde as “a distinguished performer of our time” whose “unique style, strong character and exceptional personal qualities” made her a legend during her lifetime.
“I extend my deepest sympathies to the family and friends of Manana Menabde,” he said.
Menabde was not only known for her musical career but also worked as a writer, painter and actress. She is remembered as one of Georgia’s most versatile and influential cultural figures.
