Georgia’s prime minister, Irakli Kobakhidze, has said the country was strengthening its role as a strategic link between Europe and Asia, highlighting efforts to expand connectivity amid global uncertainty.

Speaking at a leaders’ panel titled Mapping Tomorrow, Managing Uncertainties at the Antalya Diplomacy Forum, Kobakhidze said Georgia had consistently demonstrated its function as a “reliable bridge” between the two regions.

He noted that ongoing global challenges and uncertainties were also affecting the South Caucasus, but argued that the region’s importance was increasing in the current geopolitical environment.

“Georgia has, for many years, proven that it is a reliable bridge between Europe and Asia. We are making maximum efforts to strengthen our connectivity,” he said.

Kobakhidze added that, as traditional trade routes face growing pressures, Georgia was working to offer partners a range of services across different sectors.

He described the country as a transit hub for the rapid movement of goods, services, energy and digital data, and said the government would continue efforts to reinforce this role.
