Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze has announced the handover of 762 “newly built, fully renovated” apartments to internally displaced families in Tbilisi, marking a “major phase in one of the capital’s largest housing projects for IDPs.”
Kobakhidze said the new homes represented “a new, dignified and stable chapter” for the families receiving them.
He further noted the construction and resettlement works on the site are ongoing, with the full residential complex set to be completed next spring.
Once finished, the development will accommodate 2,426 displaced families, making it one of the most extensive IDP housing initiatives implemented in the city.
Kobakhidze highlighted the project’s total value - 255 million GEL, including infrastructure costs - and thanked construction company Anagi, as well as engineers and workers involved in delivering the new buildings.
“This is among the largest projects in Tbilisi,” the Prime Minister said, adding that the government remained committed to improving living conditions for displaced persons across Georgia.
