Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze has held a meeting with President Shavkat Mirziyoyev of Uzbekistan, as the two leaders discussed deepening cooperation across political and economic sectors.
The Government press office said on Tuesday the talks had emphasised the positive momentum in relations between Georgia and Uzbekistan, with both sides expressing interest in expanding collaboration in trade, infrastructure, and other strategic areas.
Georgia’s growing role as a regional connectivity hub was also highlighted during the meeting, particularly in the context of transcontinental transport and logistics initiatives linking Central Asia with Europe.
As part of the discussions, Kobakhidze extended a formal invitation to President Mirziyoyev and his delegation to attend the upcoming Tbilisi Silk Road Forum, scheduled to take place on 22–23 October 2025. The forum is expected to bring together high-level participants from across the region to discuss economic cooperation and connectivity.
