Georgia to host 2026 European Judo Championships

Georgia will host the 2026 European Judo Championships, Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze announced after meeting with European Judo Union (EJU) President László Tóth. The Georgian government confirmed the news, stating that preparations are already underway.

Kobakhidze emphasized the government’s commitment to strengthening cooperation with the EJU and ensuring the championship is organized at the highest level.

The official agreement was signed today by Georgia’s Minister of Sports Shalva Gogoladze, EJU President László Tóth, and Georgian Judo Federation President Levan Nozadze.

“The continental championship, set to take place in Tbilisi from April 23-26, 2026, will feature some of Europe’s most renowned judokas,” the statement released by Government Administration Press Service reads.
