Former Georgian Defence Minister Juansher Burchuladze has been sentenced to 10 years in prison, while the court also ordered the confiscation of his property in favour of the state.

Two other defendants in the same case - former Deputy Defence Minister Giorgi Khaindrava and Burchuladze's brother-in-law Vasil Mkheidze - were each sentenced to eight years in prison.

The State Security Service of Georgia arrested Burchuladze on September 11, 2025.

Prosecutors charged the former minister with abuse of office and money laundering involving illegally obtained income.
