Two men arrested in Kobuleti for violent robbery of minor

During the incident, police report that G.M. used a knife to inflict bodily injuries on the minor before both suspects fled the scene

Police in Georgia have arrested two men with previous convictions on charges of group violence and robbery committed against a minor, the Interior Ministry has announced.
According to officials, officers from the Adjara Police Department detained G.M. (born 1986) and G.Kh. (born 1990) in Kobuleti. The offences carry prison sentences of up to nine years.
Investigators said the two men assaulted a Russian citizen born in 2010, forcibly attempting to steal his handbag. Despite the suspects’ resistance, the teenager managed to take the bag back, prompting a second attack.
During the incident, police report that G.M. used a knife to inflict bodily injuries on the minor before both suspects fled the scene.
The injured teenager was taken to hospital where he received appropriate medical care.
Both men were later arrested as criminal suspects.
The investigation is ongoing under Article 126¹ (group violence against a minor) and Article 179 (robbery) of Georgia’s Criminal Code, the ministry said.
