Kremlin says that the comments recently made by US President Joe Biden towards Vladimir Putin, that the latter is a ‘war criminal and a murderous dictator’, are ‘personal insults’ to the Russian president.

“We hear and see statements that are actually personal insults to President Putin,” Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov said today.

Peskov stated that Biden’s remarks appeared to have been fuelled by ‘irritation, fatigue and forgetfulness.’

Russia invaded Ukraine on February 24, the move which is widely condemned by the international community.

“We saw reports that Russian forces were holding hundreds of doctors and patients hostage in the largest hospital in Mariupol,” Biden said yesterday. “These are atrocities. They’re an outrage to the world. And the world is united in our support for Ukraine and our determination to make Putin pay a very heavy price.”
