Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba says the EU should consider Ukraine’s application for membership independently and not with Moldova and Georgia.

“With all due respect to our old partners on the way of European integration, Moldova and Georgia, the case of Ukraine is an absolute exception. We urge that Ukraine [the application] be considered independently and that it be considered as soon as possible,” Kuleba says.

Kuleba also said that the time for procedures could be shortened and that the EU should ensure the  “quick integration” of Ukraine.

Ukraine submitted an official application for EU membership on February 28 amid current hostilities in the country.  Georgia took the same step several days after.
