Kvemo Kartli police seize large quantity of drugs, arrest suspect

Police in Georgia’s Kvemo Kartli region have arrested one for allegedly possessing a large quantity of illegal narcotic substances, the Ministry of Internal Affairs announced on Saturday.

Officers from the Kvemo Kartli Police Department detained A.S. (born 1971) in the Tetritskaro district following operational and investigative actions. A.S. is accused of illegally acquiring and storing a particularly large quantity of narcotics. The offence is punishable by up to 20 years or life in prison under Georgian law.

The Ministry said a search of the suspect’s residence led to the seizure of one kilogram and 300 grams of dried marijuana as evidence.
