Two arrested in Kvemo Kartli on charges of large-scale drug possession

The crime carries a penalty of up to 20 years’ imprisonment

Officers of the Kvemo Kartli Police Department of Georgia’s Ministry of Internal Affairs have arrested two individuals on charges of the illegal acquisition and possession of large quantities of narcotics, the ministry said.
According to the MIA, a man born in 1982 (identified as B.N.) and another born in 1979 (identified as Z.J.) were detained at different times in the municipalities of Gardabani and Tetritskaro.
Law enforcement officers seized various narcotic substances as evidence following searches of the suspects’ persons, residential properties, and auxiliary buildings. The seized items included methadone, marijuana, and cannabis plants, the ministry said.
An investigation has been launched under Article 260, Part 3(a) of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which carries a penalty of up to 20 years’ imprisonment.
