Georgia and Kuwait to form joint working group for economic cooperation

The Prime Ministers of Georgia and Kuwait have agreed to establish a joint working group comprising representatives from both governments. This initiative aims to enhance bilateral cooperation by addressing key economic issues with the involvement of both the public and private sectors, according to Georgia’s Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development, Levan Davitashvili.

Speaking to journalists in Dubai, Davitashvili highlighted Kuwait’s significant investment and trade potential in Georgia. He noted that the number of Kuwaiti tourists visiting Georgia has been steadily increasing, and this trend is expected to continue.

During discussions with Kuwait’s Prime Minister and government delegation, both sides explored potential economic partnerships, including trade, investment, and real estate projects. Specific areas of interest for Kuwaiti investors include tourism, hospitality, and retail, with a growing interest in Georgia’s real estate market.

To ensure productive and tangible results, the two governments decided to create a working group that will focus on developing concrete projects. Davitashvili expressed confidence that this initiative will lead to effective collaboration in the near future.

He also emphasized the importance of high-level visits in 2025, which will help raise Georgia’s profile in Kuwait and further encourage Kuwaiti investors to explore opportunities in the country. The Georgian Ministry of Economy has already been actively working with major business groups in Kuwait, and Davitashvili believes that these established connections will further strengthen economic ties between the two nations.
