Levan Khabeishvili, chair of the political council of Georgia’s opposition United National Movement (UNM), has claimed ruling Georgian Dream founder Bidzina Ivanishvili “has no political team left” and “is no longer wanted by anyone — in the streets, in politics, or by the people.”

“Ivanishvili has no strength left, he can no longer rearrange anything, he no longer has a political team,” Khabeishvili said.

Khabeishvili also accused Ivanishvili of being connected to the murder of businessman Levan Jangveladze, alleging that the crime could not have occurred without his involvement. “Now he has decided to wash his hands and sacrifice those people, claiming he had nothing to do with it. Ivanishvili is focused solely on saving himself,” he said.

The UNM politician further criticised figures he described as Ivanishvili’s remaining associates, referring to them as ineffective, and mocked the appointment of Anri Okhanashvili as Head of the State Security Service of Georgia, calling it “a joke even among security officers, who have turned into a Russian intelligence service.”

Khabeishvili also alleged that Ivanishvili’s main priority now is to transfer money into Bitcoin to protect it from seizure, claiming that Mamuka Mdinaradze, the Executive Secretary of the Georgian Dream party and leader of the parliamentary majority, owns “200 or 250 Bitcoins” and has profited despite sanctions.

“Ivanishvili is not just weak - he is no longer capable. It’s visible in every step he takes,” Khabeishvili said.
