Chair of the European Integration Committee of the Georgian Parliament Levan Makhashvili on Tuesday said a parliamentary delegation held a “constructive meeting” at Luxembourg's Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs, where the sides discussed bilateral cooperation and prospects for resetting Georgia-EU relations.
Makhashvili said the meeting covered a broad range of issues related to relations between Georgia and Luxembourg, as well as opportunities for strengthening political dialogue between Georgia and the European Union.
“We had the opportunity to discuss Georgia-EU relations and how to make maximum use of the opportunities available in these ties in order to reset relations and restore political dialogue, so that our citizens can benefit more from them,” Makhashvili said.
He noted that the parties also exchanged views on regional developments, including the situation in the Black Sea region, the South Caucasus and broader regional conflicts, as well as opportunities in trade, logistics, transport and energy.
Makhashvili expressed hope that the visit would contribute both to the further development of Georgia-Luxembourg relations and to the relaunch of dialogue between Georgia and the European Union.
“We also discussed and planned future steps. We hope this visit will help expand bilateral cooperation and support the resetting of Georgia-EU relations,” he added.
