The Lithuanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has summoned a representative of the Russian Embassy in Vilnius following Russia’s deadly missile strike on the Ukrainian city of Sumy. In a statement published on the social media platform X, Lithuania condemned the attack as a terrorist act and pledged that those responsible “will not escape justice.”

The ministry emphasized that responsibility extends beyond the direct perpetrators of the attack, stating that “everyone working for the Kremlin’s criminal regime, including Russian diplomats,” shares accountability for the violence.

The strike on Sumy, which occurred during Sunday church services, is the deadliest attack in Ukraine so far this year. According to Ukrainian authorities, at least 32 people, including two children, were killed. An additional 99 individuals, including 11 children, were injured when Russian ballistic missiles hit the city center.
