Local oficial: at least 5,000 civilians killed in Mariupol, including 210 children

Mariupol Mayor Vadim Boichenko in the coastal city of Ukraine says that at least 5,000 civilians, including 210 children have been killed by Russian troops since the invasion on February 24.

 

The city is still besieged by Russians and they refuse to allow civilians to leave the territory.

 

There are reportedly 170,000 residents still in Mariupol in very poor living conditions.

 

Almost 90% of the multi-storey buildings in the city have been damaged, and more than 40% of them are destroyed.

 

Seven  hospitals are damaged, while three of them – completely destroyed.

 

As for the schools, 57 schools were damaged and 23 of them were destroyed, BBC reported.
