Georgia’s Foreign Minister Maka Botchorishvili has said the OSCE Security Cooperation Forum in Vienna was an important platform for addressing regional security challenges and that Georgia would use it to raise key issues linked to its national security.
Speaking after her address at the forum, Botchorishvili said the format allowed participating states to discuss security developments across the OSCE area and to focus on respect for international norms.
She said Georgia’s participation was particularly important given what she described as security challenges related to the country’s territorial integrity, adding that issues linked to the Russian-occupation of the country’s territories remained central to Tbilisi’s agenda in international formats.
The minister also said the war in Ukraine continued to be a major factor affecting regional security dynamics and would remain part of discussions within the OSCE framework.
Botchorishvili added that Georgia’s engagement in the forum would be aimed at supporting dialogue, strengthening cooperation among participating states, and addressing broader stability and security concerns across the region.
