Georgian Foreign Minister Maka Botchorishvili on Wednesday said it was important that Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze would take part in discussions on economic issues during his visit to Denmark for the European Political Community summit.
“The European Political Community format has become an important platform for European leaders. Discussions cover all significant issues affecting the wider region, and it is very important that Georgia and its Prime Minister participate in debates that address economic matters,” Botchorishvili told reporters.
She highlighted the format as “the best opportunity” for meetings and communication with representatives of other countries on issues vital for Europe.
Botchorishvili also noted that in the same format, France had introduced an anti-narcotics initiative, which Georgia supported.
“There are various initiatives under this format, not only on security but also economic development. France presented an initiative to consolidate European efforts in the fight against drugs. Georgia joins this initiative, as it is a very important issue for us. Work against narcotics has intensified in recent months, and this proposal, introduced by France, has our support,” the FM added.
