Georgian Foreign Minister Maka Botchorishvili on Thursday said the country played a “significant role” in ensuring Europe’s economic security, particularly when it comes to connectivity with various markets.
In comments on Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze’s participation in a panel discussion on Europe’s economic security during the European Political Community Summit in Copenhagen, Botchorishvili said one of the key topics of the address was this very issue, along with Georgia’s achievements.
“Georgia is among the successful economies in Europe, and this is important for Europe’s overall economic security,” Botchorishvili said.
She added that within the Summit, Georgia joined a French-led initiative aimed at strengthening the fight against drugs.
“This is an important initiative, addressing a problem that affects European countries, as well as our own region and the Balkans, including states that are not yet EU members. Discussions focused on how to consolidate efforts to more effectively combat drugs and drug-related crime. Once again, emphasis was placed on the need for joint action,” the Minister noted.
