Georgia’s Vice Prime Minister and State Minister for Coordination of Law Enforcement Bodies, Mamuka Mdinaradze, on Sunday said the Georgian people’s position on identity, nationhood and traditions remains “unwavering”.

Speaking to journalists during events marking Family Purity and Respect for Parents Day in Georgia, Mdinaradze said it was impossible to express the public’s attitude on the issue more clearly.

“When we speak about the attitude of the Georgian people, it is impossible to express it more clearly than this. Of course, every opinion and every movement has its place, but when it comes to the main issues — identity, nationhood and traditions — the position is unwavering, because Georgians have always stood on this position,” Mdinaradze said.
