PM awards state security chief Mdinaradze rank of Major General

The move enacted the president’s decision and completed the legal process required for granting the senior security rank

Georgia’s Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze has awarded the head of the State Security Service, Mamuka Mdinaradze, the highest special rank of Major General of State Security.
The decision followed a presidential order issued on 20 April 2026, which was formally approved and countersigned by the prime minister in line with Georgian law on government structure and procedures.
The move enacted the president’s decision and completed the legal process required for granting the senior security rank.
