Georgian UFC champion Merab Dvalishvili announced on social media that he met with Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze to discuss his plans for the development of MMA in Georgia. The meeting was initiated by Sports Minister Shalva Gogoladze, who expressed his willingness to support Dvalishvili’s efforts.
Dvalishvili stated that he aims to establish high-quality MMA training facilities in Tbilisi and several other cities in Georgia, where both professional and beginner fighters can train under optimal conditions.
“I am just an ordinary Georgian who loves my homeland and my people. I have never been a member of any political party or taken any side, nor do I plan to enter politics. I am a completely free and independent individual who has always expressed and will continue to express my personal opinions,” Dvalishvili wrote.
His goal is to contribute to the development of MMA in Georgia by sharing his experience with local athletes. He hopes to create opportunities for Georgian fighters to train at a high level and nurture new talent, ultimately increasing the number of Georgian fighters in the UFC.
