Georgian President Mikheil Kavelashvili on Thursday reacted to the murder of publicist and conservative commentator Charlie Kirk, calling the killing a direct result of his conservative views, criticism of pseudo-liberal ideology, and opposition to LGBT propaganda.

In a social media post, Kavelashvili described Kirk as “another victim of liberal fascism” and condemned those who incite violence or suppress dissenting opinions.

“ Kirk is a victim of liberal fascism. Even more horrifying are the cynical reactions from followers of pseudo-liberal ideology regarding this terrible event. Everyone who encourages violence, persecutes unacceptable opinions, or seeks to impose and spread a distorted ideology is complicit in Kirk’s murder. I wish strength and endurance to [his] family and loved ones,” Kavelashvili wrote.

Kirk was shot while speaking at the University of Utah after being invited by a student group. He was struck by gunfire from a campus building approximately 200 meters away and died shortly afterward from his injuries.
