Georgian President meets Uzbekistan’s Foreign Minister to discuss bilateral ties

Georgian President Mikheil Kavelashvili met with the Foreign Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Bakhtiyor Saidov, to discuss the current state of bilateral relations and explore avenues for future cooperation between the two countries, according to the president's press office.
During the meeting, President Kavelashvili expressed gratitude for Uzbekistan’s consistent support for Georgia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
“Georgia values and attaches great importance to the friendly relationship between our two nations, built on trust, mutual respect, and consideration for each other’s national interests,” the President stated.
Highlighting the strong political and economic ties between Tbilisi and Tashkent, Kavelashvili described Uzbekistan as not only a key and reliable partner but also a true friend of Georgia. He reaffirmed Georgia’s readiness to deepen cooperation across political, economic, and cultural sectors.
“We are committed to expanding our bilateral partnership and contributing to unlocking the full potential of the South Caucasus and Central Asia regions for the benefit of our peoples,” Kavelashvili said. He also noted Georgia’s strong interest in attracting Uzbek investment and advancing economic collaboration.
The official meeting, held at the Presidential Palace in Tbilisi, was attended by senior officials from both sides. The Uzbek delegation included the Deputy Foreign Minister of Uzbekistan, the country’s Ambassador to Georgia, and the Foreign Minister’s advisor. From the Georgian side, Deputy Foreign Minister, the Head of the Presidential Administration, Georgia’s Ambassador to Uzbekistan, and the President’s advisor participated in the talks.
