Former Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili on Tuesday criticised calls for citizens to participate in both local elections and evening protests, claiming such a strategy serves the interests of the ruling party’s founder, Bidzina Ivanishvili.

“Those who say ‘let’s go to the elections in the morning and protests in the evening’ are in fact planning to legalise a Russian special operation during the day and disperse the rally in the evening, as they have done many times in the recent past. Both are Ivanishvili’s game”, wrote Saakashvili in a post on social media.
