Georgia’s Health Minister meets World Bank Regional Director to discuss human capital, social programs

Mikheil Sarjveladze, Georgia’s Minister of Health, met with Rolande Pryce, World Bank Regional Director for the South Caucasus, to discuss the progress of the Human Capital Project and ongoing restructuring efforts in the health and social sectors.
The meeting focused on strengthening social systems and enhancing opportunities within the country’s health, education, and social protection frameworks, his office said on Wednesday.
Sarjveladze highlighted the close cooperation between the Ministry of Health of Georgia and the World Bank in the areas.
The Human Capital Program, funded by the World Bank, has been running since June 2022 and is scheduled to continue until 2028. It covers health, education, and social protection initiatives.
During the meeting, it was noted that approximately 16,000 people have gained employment through social protection and employment promotion programs.
Discussions also addressed strategies to increase employment opportunities for job seekers and to strengthen active labour market policies.
World Bank representatives praised the Ministry’s efforts, and both sides reaffirmed their commitment to continued collaboration.
