Nicu Popescu, who assumed the role in August 2021, has stepped down from his position as the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Moldova.In addition to serving as the vice-prime minister, Popescu made the announcement of his resignation at a press conference in Chisinau on Wednesday. 

 

According to him, having successfully achieved his objectives since taking office, he now requires a break.

The EU last year opened accession talks with Moldova and Ukraine.
