More than 300 killed in Turkey, Syria as 7.8 magnitude quake hits countries

More than 300 people were killed and hundreds injured in Turkey and Syria after one of the strongest earthquakes hit Turkey in more than 100 years, sending tremors across the region. 

The 7.8-magnitude quake struck just after 4 a.m. Monday morning local time, 23 kilometers east of Nurdagi, Gaziantep province, at a depth of 24.1 kilometers (14.9 miles), CNN cited the United States Geological Survey as saying. 

At least 76 people were killed and more than 440 injured in Turkey, while the death toll for Syria stands at 237 as of now, with more than 630 injured,

People are missing in collapsed buildings, with the countries requesting international aid.
