Gov’t forms commission to oversee 2025 World Fencing Championships

The Georgian government has established a special commission to oversee the organization of the 2025 World Fencing Championships, according to an official decree signed by Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze.
The commission will be chaired by Shalva Gogoladze, the Minister of Sports of Georgia, and will include senior representatives from several key ministries, including the Ministries of Internal Affairs, Foreign Affairs, Health, and Finance. The Head of the Special State Protection Service, the Head of the National Tourism Administration, the Vice Mayor of Tbilisi, and the President of the Georgian Fencing Federation will also participate.
The Ministry of Sports will serve as the commission's secretariat and is authorized to form an organizational group responsible for planning and implementing the event. This group will handle funding distribution and address logistical and organizational matters to ensure the successful hosting of the Championships.
