Pakistani citizen arrested in Tbilisi for large-scale drug trafficking

Georgian police have arrested a Pakistani national in Tbilisi on charges of illegal possession and trafficking of a large quantity of narcotics.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs said on Tuesday the officers from the Didube-Chugureti Main Police Department detained the 2003-born suspect, identified only by the initials M.U., following a series of operational and investigative actions.
During a personal search and inspections of locations provided by the suspect, law enforcement seized 44 packages of narcotic substances, including methadone and alpha-PVP, intended for further distribution.
The suspect faces serious charges under Georgia’s Criminal Code, including Article 260, Part 3(a), and Article 2604, Part 6(a), which carry penalties of up to 20 years imprisonment or life sentence.
