The Georgian Ministry of Internal Affairs has announced the arrest of four individuals in Tbilisi on serious drug-related charges. The operations were conducted by the Gldani-Nadzaladevi and Isani-Samgori divisions of the Tbilisi Police Department as part of ongoing investigative and intelligence activities.
The suspects — born in 2005, 1999, 1998, and 1992 respectively — were detained for the illegal purchase, possession, attempted distribution, and facilitation of the sale of large and particularly large quantities of narcotic and psychotropic substances. One of the detainees has a prior criminal record. The charges also include the unauthorized use of drugs without a medical prescription. These crimes are punishable by up to 20 years in prison under Georgian law.
During searches of their residences, vehicles, and locations identified during questioning, police seized various illegal substances, including methadone, pregabalin, ketamine, MDMA, and dried marijuana. Officers also found packaging materials, adhesive tape, zip-lock bags, and a digital scale, all believed to be used for drug preparation and distribution.
The investigation is proceeding under several articles of the Criminal Code of Georgia, including those related to drug trafficking, possession, and illegal consumption. Authorities stated that legal action will be taken in accordance with the evidence collected.
