NATO Allies have agreed to help partner countries, including Georgia, to ‘strengthen their resilience’ and ‘shore up’ their defence abilities, Jens Stoltenberg, the Secretary-General of the Alliance, said following the meetings of NATO Foreign Ministers on Thursday.

Stoltenberg explained that support could be increased through the Substantial NATO-Georgia Package, a set of initiatives aiming to strengthen Georgia’s defence capabilities.

“For Georgia, we could increase our support through the Substantial NATO-Georgia Package. Including in areas like situational awareness, secure communications, and cyber,” Stoltenberg told the press.

The meetings of NATO Ministers of Foreign Affairs took place on 6 and 7 April in Brussels.
