Lelo opposition party MP, former leader of the United National Movement opposition party Salome Samadashvili says that it is not easy to close the airspace to Russia like many foreign states who are protesting current hostilities in Ukraine.
Samadashvili says that if Georgia closes the airspace to Russian planes, it will cause serious problems for neighboring Armenia.
She says that the issue should be discussed, noting that sanctions against Russia could be symbolic which will create additional problems for the country.
Dozens of European states have closed the airspace to Russia to protest its move to invade Ukraine.
Georgian PM Irakli Garibashvili stated last week that Georgia will not join sanctions against Russia as it will harm the interests of the Georgian people.
