Opposition politician Ugulava released on 3,000 GEL fine

Opposition politician,former mayor of Tbilisi Gigi Ugulava has been released on 3,000 GEL fine by Tbilisi City Court earlier today for abusing police and disobedience to law enforcement officers.  

Ugulava, who had to spend several years in prison under the Georgian Dream leadership for embezzlement of state funds, was arrested in front of Tbilisi City Court on Monday at a rally during a trial hearing of former president Mikheil Saakashvili.  

Following his release Ugulava said that the current state leadership is trying to threaten the opposition through arrests and fines.  

Ugulava, like other opposition leaders, is demanding the release of Saakashvili from prison.
