The united opposition Poti mayoral candidate, former Tbilisi mayor who was convicted under the Georgian Dream (GD) leadership, Gigi Ugulava, has commented on Saakashvili’s alleged return to Georgia and said that ‘in any case, Saakashvili played a  trick on the GD.’

“Saakashvili did what Bidzina Ivanishvili (founder of the GD) has done for years – playing tricks on the Georgian people. One who plays tricks on others should be tricked,” Ugulava says.

Saakashvili released a video late yesterday, claiming he was in the Georgian city of Batumi ahead of the October 2 municipal race.

The Georgian Interior Ministry and the GD say that the video is fake and that Saakashvili is in the Ukrainian resort town of Truskavets.

The UNM says that Saakashvili is in Georgia and will appear in public tomorrow.
