Opposition Vice Speaker from Citizens party Levan Ioseliani, whose party founder Aleko Elisashvili is now fighting in Ukraine, stated earlier today that he has already communicated with other opposition members and that the opposition delegation is expected to visit Bucha, Ukraine soon, following Russian atrocities there.
Ioseliani raised the initiative after the chair of Ukrainian Rada invited his colleagues worldwide to visit the site and express solidarity there, and the refusal of Georgian Parliament Speaker Shalva Papuashvili as he was unhappy with Kyiv’s “continued, unfounded accusations.”
Ioseliani claims that the opposition will announce the date for the visit this week, expressing hope that the ruling party MPs will also join them.
He said that the Georgian-Ukrainian relations have “deteriorated much” in recent weeks and the visit would help the countries to “restore close partnership.”
