OSCE chair-in-office in Tbilisi: I am here to reiterate my support for Georgia’s sovereignty, territorial integrity

OSCE Chairman-in-Office and Poland’s Minister for Foreign Affairs Zbigniew Rau, who is visiting Tbilisi, has stated that he is in Georgia to express support for the country’s sovereignty and territorial integrity both on behalf of OSCE and Poland.

 

He has already met with the Georgian PM, foreign minister, president and lawmakers.

 

During the meeting with Rau, PM irakli Garibashvili reiterated Georgia’s solidarity with Ukraine by providing humanitarian aid and political support, “including in every international format,” the Government of Georgia press office has stated.

 

“Garibashvili also underlined the vital role and active steps of the international community toward ending the war as soon as possible.Special attention was paid to future cooperation during Poland’s OSCE chairmanship and regional security issues in this context,” said the Government’s press office.

 

President Salome Zourabichvilli’s press office said that the meeting with Rau was mainly focused on the current conflict in Ukraine, the situation in the region and  the issues related to support and solidarity with Ukraine.

 

The President said that “the important steps that Poland is taking to support Ukraine and the Ukrainian refugees show that Poland is one of the leading countries in the European Union.”
